FL, VA, TN, OH, and IN
I enjoyed a quick visit with Steve, a friend from Miami days, in Knoxville where he is now a professor at UT. It's been 13 years since we've seen each other. That occasion was my 30 birthday party also pictured.
Today I drove from Columbus, OH to Indianapolis, IN after a visit with some friends from Delray Beach who now live there. I was allowed to share the basement floor with 3 cats one of whom you see pictured in his favorite hiding spot.
I'm now in the basement at my brother's in Indy. He and his wife have 3 girls that I haven't seen in over 4 years. They are at least twice as big as the last time I saw them. I'll be here (not just in the basement) for the next 4 days. It's interesting to notice that Ft. Lauderdale Beach has been the cool spot of all my stops in the journey so far.

Time in Florida
I've spent a week in Florida with my sister's family on this start of the 5 week journey to Istanbul. Just thought I post a couple pics of my niece and nephew. We're at a beach hotel in Fort Lauderdale tonight and headed to a baseball tournament tomorrow. It's good to be with family who are full of laughter and love.

All Packed
Ok, I'm sorry for another picture of my luggage. But, it is packed, and I'm ready to hit the road. Yes, I'm driving the American highway for the next 5 weeks to see friends and family before I change continents. My safety will likely be much more in jeopardy during this month than anytime during my stay in Turkey. I will stay aware, use my cruise control, and never drive more than 7 hours in one day. No, this was not a very interesting post, but I want you to know that I'm serious about this blog. I will commit to weekly posts at this point with a new location picture. Are you with me? Bye bye Beaufort. I'll miss you!

Packing
School is out, finally! It has been no small feat, intellectually, emotionally, and physically, teaching music in Beaufort for the past 7 years. I can definitely say that I have learned and grown a great deal (physically as well), and that my experience with both place and people has been far more good than bad. I will miss it and you! Be in touch Beaufort!
Now I can focus on the big move. Yikes! I'm moving out of my house in just over two weeks, and headed to the highway to visit friends and family for the month of July. Trying up of the lose strings is kind of like herding cats. (Or is it sheep? I haven't tried either one.) I'm trying to convince myself that I'm on the right track and will be ready!?!?!?
Please look for more interesting and "pretty" pics in the near future!

Looking Forward
I have two wonderful days of professional development ahead. It is so nice to have the opportunity to learn without being in charge of anything or anyone. See you tomorrow in Charleston!
